Girth and Cake

Here at Necky Knoll House the words 'Girth' and 'cake' are synonymous, and they've both just arrived on our doorstep.

Allow me to introduce our own celebrity chef and his glamorous partner, Nektareeni, (who happens to be my sister).

Together they run the Gleeful & Greedy Restaurant in the village, and what a popular eating place it is!

Passionate about cooking, (and Nektareeni!), Girth loves to try out his new recipes over here. His booming voice fills the entire house as he mutters and chortles over his creations. "Foooood, get it down your necks everybody!"

Later this evening we'll be dining on Spicy Parsneck Soup, followed by Nektareeni's Hotlipped Hotpot. Our dessert will be Gleeful & Greedy Custard Pudding. All are cherished recipes of Girth's, tried and tested here and famous throughout Knollshire!

For now, we're going to start on the cake ...

Oh dear Raph. With all that eating over the festive season I think you had better hide the tape measure and the scales, as the result of using either would be just too depressing.

Ah, but it's all lovely healthy stuff, Weaver! Raises one's metabolic rate, and I like to think any excess calories just make my neck grow longer ...

Hi Ralph,

Glad you finaly got your cards in the post. Mine hasn't arrived yet!

Thanks again for your kind comments about my Budapest photo. Now, before I go to the developer's, just how many prints can I put you down for?!

hHow nice to find you and your blog too! That menu sounds intriguing! I love giraffes. They are my favourite African animal but here of course, we have the real thing. Graceful and with the longest eyelashes, they are stricly vegetarian! I can't wait for Christmas lunch. It is blazing hot here so it will be cold gammon and turkey and salads on the verandah!

Derrick - That will depend on the inter-galactic postal rates!! But I will send all my human friends a card via the Interneck ...

Eleanor - lovely to hear from you. We have wild giraffes here too, very similar to yours. They roam free on the Neckmoors near where we used to live.

Your Christmas lunch sounds nice. How wonderful to be able to eat outside in the sunshine!
